Zone19 affects approximately 750 properties.
The tank project is to locate, purchase land, and design
a new 1.0 million gallon reservoir along Copper Basin Road. Upon completion
of the Copper Basin Water line improvements and pump station upgrades,
this reservoir will be put into operation, improve pressure and flow within
zone19*. Ris assisting the City in locating a proposed tank site and
in acquiring the property as the agent for the City.
The water main project is to design a 12” main from the end of the Copper
Basin Road improvements at Sheriff Posse Trail to the location of the
new 1.0 million gallon reservoir. The main and tank improvements will
also require upgrades to the existing pump station on Copper Basin Road,
from approximately 500gpm to l000gpm.
It is anticipated that the water main and pump station
design will commence in fiscal year 2009 and construction in fiscal year
2010. It is anticipated that new tank design and land acquisition will
take place in fiscal year 2009 and construction in fiscal year 2010. The
water main, pump station upgrades and tank construction may be packaged
as a single construction contract.
Rockwell Engineering, Inc. is currently working with the City of Prescott in determining feasible locations for a new water reservoir. Both CRA and the City of Prescott understand the sensitivity of the impacts to the local neighborhoods. Neighborhood / public meetings will be scheduled this spring to discuss options & impacts to the neighborhood. Your input is appreciated in helping Rockwell and the City formulate a proactive design.
